Festivals & Events

A cultural community, the Comox Valley was awarded the designation of Cultural Capital of Canada for 2007. With more than 50 festivals and annual events taking place each year, its little wonder the Comox Valley is known as the Valley of Festivals.

The Cultural Capital of Canada designation allowed for increased capacity amongst three municipalities, one First nation and twelve different groups to deliver new and expanded events and activities which highlighted the regions arts and cultural focus. Created in the 2007 CCC year were the Seafest Shellfish Festival, the Multicultural Festival and the I-Hos Arts Festival. Expanded festivals through Canadian Heritage CCC funding included, the Cumberland Empire Days Celebration, the Taiwanese Lantern Festival, the Filberg Festival and Comox Nautical Days, to name a few.

From world class music events to a readers and writers festival to wine festivals, the Comox Valley has a festival or an event that is designed with you in mind. Indoor or outdoor, participatory or performance for connoisseurs of flowers or theatre, the festivals and events of the Comox Valley will immerse you in the local culture and introduce you to the best the Valley has to offer. Enjoy events year-round which celebrate the bounty and beauty of the Valley's farms, mountains, rivers and ocean, as well as the diversity and abundance of arts and culture in the area.

With an incredible spectrum of festivals and events, the Comox Valley is the place to celebrate!
