Superhost Destination Ambassador – Comox Valley

Monday, October 21st from 12:30-4:30pm – $75

A remarkable experience relies on exceptional customer service, starting from the moment a visitor sets foot in a community and at every touch point that follows. How do you become a local Ambassador and ensure that you are contributing to a positive, authentic visitor experience that shows all that your community has to offer?

Destination Ambassador covers key topics that make for memorable visitor experiences, including:

  • The role of local ambassadors in the visitor experience
  • The importance of tourism and how it benefits your local community
  • Different visitor profiles and reasons they visit your area
  • Products and services your community has to offer visitors
  • Where to access information and how to provide helpful service to others

 

Gaetane Palardy is the owner of GPS Gaetane Palardy Solutions, a consulting and training company in tourism and hospitality. She also owns Island Gourmet Trails, a tour company that provides culinary explorations of the Comox valley.

Over the years she has developed extensive expertise in customer service for the tourism industry. She often facilitates the new version of the Superhost program, the Foundations of Service Quality. She happy to now to be able to also offer the new program Superhost program, the Destination Ambassador Comox Valley. Created in 2019, this workshop is customized for the needs of our region.

Join Destination BC and Tourism Vancouver Island for a free session, to learn about the resources and tools available through Google that can help your business thrive, including Google Analytics, Google my Business, Google Ads, and others through a series of free workshops.

The Grow with Google program is intended to support small businesses grow and succeed online by providing training, resources, and support materials for a variety of Google products.

Includes: Three workshops (Reach Customers Online with Google, Get Your Business Online, and Using Data to Drive Business Growth) delivered in one 5-hour session. Learn tools and tips that your business can use and get answers to some of those burning Google questions you may have from our digital team.

 

Dana is a Digital Strategist at Tourism Vancouver Island, specializing in Search Engine and Social Media Marketing. She previously worked in the private tech sector, where she worked as a Search Engine Optimization specialist after graduated from Vancouver Island University in 2014 with a B.A. in Digital Media Studies. She’s heavily involved in the local mountain bike community and spends every ounce of her spare time exploring the many facets of island life, from biking to hiking and camping to climbing.

Dana Wacker, Tourism Vancouver Island

Martin Littlejohn, Mountain Bike Tourism Association

Martin has been working with BC’s mountain bike sector since 2005 and doesn’t see any sign of it slowing down.  As executive director of the Western Canada Mountain Bike Tourism Association (MBTA) his role is to facilitate provincial marketing efforts with over 30 communities and 8 resorts representing every region of the province.  Martin believes BC has what it takes to be the world’s most diverse mountain biking destination.  During his tenure he has seen the economic impact of mountain biking increase almost three fold in the Sea to Sky Corridor alone.  Martin has an extensive background in tourism and recreation with degrees from UBC and Capilano University.  Before immersing himself in mountain biking Martin worked in planning and marketing roles for several international travel companies including Japan Travel Bureau, Shangri La Hotels & Resorts, and Thomas Cook.

Ken Beattie, BC Ale Trail

Building on decades of experience in the beer industry, Ken currently sits as the Executive Director of the BC Craft Brewers Guild, working tirelessly to support craft breweries of all sizes across BC. He is also a beer educator who has taught numerous seminars about tasting beer and the History of Beer.
