Start-up resources include business planning examples, information on becoming a proprietorship/partnership, incorporation or non-profit society, importing and exporting, sources of financing and information on buying or selling a business.

Explore basic drawing techniques with artist Clive Powsey. Learn to accurately draw what you see with line and then render light and shade on form with shading and hatching. Informal perspective and measuring of angles and proportions will be considered. Planar drawing, modular drawing, and shading and separating the effect of local colour from light and shade on form will also be covered. Subject matter will include still life, architecture, machinery, the face and the figure (including drawing from life). Instructor: Clive Powsey

The Marine Advanced course will cover the Red Cross; first aid kit; body structure and function; toxicological hazards; examination of person or patient (oxygen administration); spinal Injuries; burns, scalds and effects of cold and heat; fractures, dislocations and muscular injuries; medical care of rescued persons; radio medical advice; pharmacology; sterilization and cardiac arrest, drowning and asphyxia. Certification is by Canadian Red Cross and is valid for three years.

This session will provide background information along with the pros and cons of using cloud services (like Google G Suite or Microsoft Office 365) to complement your basic office operations on your office computers – even if you already use external email services.
Presenter: Terry Hooper, Think Computer Consulting. Terry has recently moved to Comox Valley from Regina where he consulted with small, medium, and large organizations (for-profit and non-profit) that have considered and embraced the advantages of supplementing their internal office operations with internet cloud services (like Google G Suite and Microsoft Office 365).
