This exhibit focuses on the stories of Canadians, many of which were from British Columbia, who fought and died during the Great War in Europe. Admission is by donation. HAMM is open Tuesday – Saturday 10-4. Exhibit runs from May 16 – August 30. The Pearl Ellis Gallery will
The Pearl Ellis Gallery will kick off its 39th summer season with its 12th Members People’s Choice Awards Show and Sale. The show runs from June 27 to July 22.
After looking at the beautiful art that will be on display for sale the public and membership is welcome to vote on their favorite piece The Members show will showcase a variety of painting, fabric art and sculpture representing many fine artists in the Comox Valley. The winner will receive gift certificates from Whyte’s framing and Benjamin Moore Paints.. As well the second and third place winners will receive gift certificates from Benjamin Moore Paints. The winners will be drawn on Saturday July 15 and announced in the paper and on our web-site.
Please come to our Reception which will be held on Saturday July 8 from 1 to 4. and talk with the many artists represented and sample some tasty treats.

“Veins / Listen / Cul-de-sac” is an installation
“Veins / Listen / Cul-de-sac” is an installation by inter-disciplinary artist Rita McKeough composed of lands the artist is deeply concerned about. This exhibition offers an immersion in a landscape where the paradox between a healthy natural world and human systems of capitalism, production, consumption can be contemplated.
The thematic program consists of exhibitions, an artist talk, an electronics Make Art Project workshop , and a creative residency supported by partnering organizations North Island College Fine Arts Department and the McLoughlin Gardens Society.
