Come experience the HMCS ALBERNI Museum and Memorial’s (HAMM’s) summer exhibit A SAILOR’S SKETCHBOOK now showing in the main corridor of the museum in the Courtenay Mall at 625 Cliffe Avenue, Downtown Courtenay. On display are examples of war correspondent illustrations, propaganda and training posters of the First and Second World Wars, examples of trench art, fun doodles, and learn about maritime tattoos. Admission is free but donations gladly accepted. Summer hours (June 1-August 31) Monday – Saturday 10-5. Winter hours (September 1 – May 31) Tuesday – Saturday 10-4. Experience the Courtenay of 100 years ago. The clues are there just waiting to be discovered when you join a Heritage Walking Tour hosted by Courtenay and District Museum guides.
Learn about Courtenay’s first commercial centre, the origins of the Native Sons Hall, the railway which ran through town, and the important role the river has played in the City’s development. Tour guides will also explore industrial, military and recreational ties to Comox Bay and Estuary.
Tours offered Thursdays in July (4th, 11th, 18thand 25th), 2019.
10:00am – 11:30am.
Minimum group size: 4; maximum size: 15.
Pre-booking is required.
Drop-ins are welcome when space exists.
Tours go rain or shine.
Please note that the route includes stairs and some uneven ground.

Children 4 years old and younger are free.
