Outdoor Adventures In The Comox Valley

Explore our coastal temperate rainforest on a mountain bike, hike through alpine vistas in Strathcona park, or dip your paddle in a glacier-fed lake. The Comox Valley’s alpine to ocean geography offers affords guests the opportunity to experience the best of the west coast.

In the heat of the summer, mountain bikers from all over the world descend upon Cumberland to explore its world-class mountain biking network, while aquatic adventurers will find themselves spending most of their time in the cool waters of Comox Lake, or accessing the ocean from one of the region’s many beautiful beaches.

But things don’t cool down in the winter. Historically, the mountains of Vancouver Island receive one of the deepest snowpacks in BC. Mount Washington, Vancouver Island’s major alpine resort, is located just a half-hour from Courtenay and home to a fun mix of activities for the whole family. Ski or board, tube, and toboggan in the winter, then bike, hike, or zipline in the summers.
