SOCIAL DISTANCING THINGS TO DO IN THE SPRING

Outdoor Activities:
- Hike at Seal Bay Regional Park
- Hike at Nymph Falls Regional Park
- Take a walking stroll at Comox Marina Park & Fisherman’s Wharf
- Go birding in the Lazo Marsh
- Grab two wheels to go for a bike ride (Please be sure to ride alone or in family groups, group rides are not consider proper social distancing)
- Take a leisurely walk at the Royston Seaside Trail
- Explore the shorelines of area beaches including Kye Bay, Goose Spit, Courtenay Airpark
- Golf at Crown Isle Resort, Glacier Greens Golf Course (members only), Comox Golf Club (members only), or the Sunnydale Golf & Country Club (members only)
- Enjoy the Town of Comox walking trails and parks or City of Courtenay greenways and parks
- Create a giant sidewalk chalk game on your driveway for your family.
- Take a garden stroll through Filberg Park to see the Spring blossoms
- Take a mountain bike through the Northeast Woods Trail System in Comox
- Enjoy a beach walk at Miracle Beach Provincial Park (Park Open for Day Use only)
- Take a hike or feed the Whiskey Jacks in Strathcona Park Forbidden Plateau and Paradise Meadows areas (Park Open for Day Use only)
- Book a Small Group Fishing (under 5 people) Charter with Island Pursuit Sport Fishing out of the Comox Harbour
Virtual Activities:
- Take part in the CV Community Sing every Wednesday in May at 7:30 pm
- Book an online art class with Vireo School of Performing Arts including youth and adult dance programs
- Visit the Courtenay Museum & Palaeontology’s online exhibits or online learning class with Finley the Fish – Episode 1, Episode 2, Episode 3, Episode 4, Episode 5
- Visit the online art exhibit Time of Things / the Continuum of Indigenous Customary Practice into Contemporary Art from the Comox Valley Art Gallery
- Take a look at the new Central Island Arts Guide or take a virtual studio tour of some of our local island artists (stay tuned to their website for more virtual studio tours and artist interviews coming soon)
- The Canadian Forces Snowbirds participated in the “Socially Distant Airshow”, and now you can view it from home on Youtube
- Take a virtual tour of the Comox Air Force Museum
- While social distancing and self-isolating, it’s still important to focus on physical and emotional well-being. Courtenay Recreation is offering Virtual Rec classes for adults and children during the COVID-19 crisis.
Takeout, Shopping and Staycation Ideas:
- Get Takeout from one of over 50 local Comox Valley Restaurants and Beverage producers and have a picnic
- Visit the Comox Valley Farmers Market for local produce and products – please note that this is not an event, it is an essential grocery service. Don’t want to go to the market, check out the Online Farmers Market Store!
- Enjoy fresh and local food from your favourite food trucks at Comox Marina park. CoMexi, Phat Parrot, and Surfside Fish’n Chips are all back in operation and have social distancing practices in place.
- Visit one of the many shops in Courtenay and Comox that are offering online shopping, or private shopping experiences. Note that many offer curb side and delivery services.
