3rd annual Comox Valley WinterFest Announces Event Line-up
With well over a meter of snow on Mount Washington Alpine Resort, one of the deepest snowpack’s in BC, the Comox Valley is the Islands true winter destination for snow-seekers, and will host its 3rd annual WinterFest this January 13-29.
Comox Valley WinterFest provides the ultimate combination of ski & winter play during the day with 50% off lift passes at Mount Washington when coupled with a Stay, plus extensive après ski live events, music and comedy nights, including headliner Darryl Lenox, January 21, Red 21 Gaming Tap and Grill, who boasts appearances on Conan O’Brien, Comedy Central, and A&E.
In addition to the Comedy Night with Lenox, downtown Courtenay will be a hotspot of other WinterFest après ski events to enjoy after a day on the slopes; from a Blues Night series at Billy D’s Pub and Bistro, to a Hypnosis Show featuring Brad Rush at the Avalanche Bar and Grill. From a Hawaiian Night at Mudsharks Coffee Bar, to a live concert at the Sid Williams Theatre featuring Lion Bear Fox.
The signature WinterFest Fun Zone returned to 5th and England Avenue in downtown, will offer free outdoor skating and numerous family fun activities including Movie Nights, snow man making area, competitions including the Woofy’s Pet Look-Alike Contest, ice sculpting, hockey glow ball events, and Themed Skate Nights.
Comox Valley WinterFest is supported by a Steering Committee comprised of Downtown Courtenay BIA Directors and members, with the overall Festival lead by Comox Valley Economic Development and Tourism, in collaboration with Mount Washington Alpine Resort and Courtenay accommodation providers; developed to drive increased visitation to the areas retailers, restaurants and accommodations during the shoulder season.
