How to get here

The Comox Valley Airport (YQQ) is served by Air Canada, WestJet and Pacific Coastal Airlines with service and connections via Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton. WestJet provides seasonal non-stop service to Puerto Vallarta and Toronto. The air terminal hosts a wide variety of excellent amenities including Budget, Enterprise and National Car rentals, taxi and shuttle services, Canada Border Service Agency, short and long term parking, a café, a gift shop and BC Transit bus service. Centrally located, YQQ is a great choice for access to the whole of Vancouver Island and is less than 10 minutes from the Little River BC Ferries terminal with service to the Sunshine Coast.

• WestJet Airlines operates flights from Comox to Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver as well as seasonal service non-stop to Toronto and Puerto Vallarta, more info here.
• Harbour Air offers convenient harbour to harbour flights between the downtown Vancouver terminal and the Comox Bay Marina, Town of Comox. Call 1-800-347-2222 for reservations and schedules.

Once you’re on Vancouver Island, the Comox Valley is only a 1 1/4 hour (117 km) drive north from Nanaimo or a 2 1/2 hour (227 km) drive from Victoria. Travelling the scenic oceanside route of Highway 19A, you’ll pass the Buckley Bay ferry terminal for sailings to Denman Island and Hornby Island, and travel through the seaside communities of Fanny Bay, Union Bay, and Royston as you approach Courtenay, the largest urban centre in the Comox Valley.

Or, once you’re north of Nanaimo you can also follow Highway 19 and take Exit 117 onto the Comox Valley Parkway. Take the first right onto Minto Road, then turn right onto Small Road to find the Vancouver Island Visitor Centre. Coming from the North Island? The Comox Valley is only a 3 1/2 hour (280 km) drive from Port Hardy. Highway 19 Exit numbers 87, 101, 117, 127, 130 and 144 will lead you to various points in the Comox Valley.
